Agent 9 by James Burks
Agent 9 is a Super-Secret Spy who happens to be on
probation in the opening book, Flood-A-Geddon. She often acts first and thinks
later, which in the spy world can cause problems. Her last mission, which got
her put on probation had some collateral damage. A priceless painting was
destroyed.
After begging for a second chance, Agent 9 now faces the bumbling
supervillain King Crab whose mission is to turn the world into a giant water
park. With support from her robotic partner, Fin, they set out to stop King
Crab. But will her impetuousness get her in trouble? Will she save the world?
In Mind Control, Agent 9 is back and determined to
be the Spy of the Month. Agent 9 thinks it’s in the bag. A new mission to stop a
supervillain, Wolf, who is bent on mind control. Agent 9 is forced to work with
Traps, a mouse who is an expert tracker, trapper, and knitter. Will she be able
to control her impulses enough to work together? Will she learn to compromise?
Will Wolf succeed? Will Agent 9 be Spy of the Month?
Agent 9 is full of humor and thrilling crime fighting. Kids
will love this series. Agent 9 is impulsive but relatable, so kids will
recognize that feeling of act first and think later. Author James Burks, of
Bird and Squirrel fame, has delivered a series, “zippier than a roomful of kittens on
catnip, with fast-paced, full-color wordless sequences” (Kirkus).
A
cliffhanger in Mind Control will leave kids begging for more, so be sure to put
this series on your must-have list. You’ll find the series on our website here! Recommend this series for fans of Bad Guys and Dog Man.
