This year my K4 students had the opportunity to enjoy the Penworthy “I Love Animals" STEAM-To-Go kit.  It was wonderful addition to our classroom.  The children could not wait to open the boxes and use the activities, and they loved the Pets book. The “Zoo on the Loose” activity complemented our zoo unit perfectly. The children were able to use it both individually and as a group activity.  The Pet Vet playset became a popular dramatic play activity in our housekeeping area.  The children used it daily to take care of both the animals included in the kit as well as our other stuffed animals in the classroom.  Both activities encouraged imaginative play and helped to build the children’s’ vocabulary. After they had each had a turn with both activities, the children continued to choose the activities in this kit as one of their first-choice activities. The kit is highly inviting, and the themes of the zoo, veterinarian, and pets can be incorporated throughout the school year making this a great kit to be able to bring out multiple times during the year.
